Thales, the famous philosopher and mathematician, was born in Miletus. Archaeologists still excavate here searching for ancient artifacts. The Hellenistic theatre that remains seated 15,000 spectators. Beneath the theatre are caves and passages where ancient statues were hidden. You can freely wander the ruins, but first you must buy a museum ticket, which serves as the entrance to the site. The ticket costs six euros.
