Of the Temple of Artemis — one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World — a single re-erected column remains in a marshy field. The sight is modest but the site is monumental: stop for 15–20 minutes between Ephesus and Selçuk, ideally at sunset, with St. John's Basilica and the fortress in the backdrop.
