On the way back from Miletus and Didyma you can stop for an hour at the former ancient Greek city of Priene. You can see a preserved Hellenistic theatre for more than 6,000 people and what remains of the Temple of Athena — a few columns and the steps. The temple was built with funds from Alexander the Great. The rest of the city is also ruins, so you walk and imagine how Priene looked centuries ago.
